News Release: The Centre Launches “Preserve the Past, Inspire the Future” Campaign

The Centre is thrilled to announce the launch of its “Preserve the Past, Inspire the Future” campaign, dedicated to restoring and revitalising classrooms and facilities in our historic Wangaratta building.

Built in 1909 as the Wangaratta Agricultural High School, our building holds over a century of memories and has welcomed generations of learners. Today, it continues to provide a safe and welcoming space for adult learners in our community, many of whom have faced significant challenges in their educational journeys.

With the building’s age showing, The Centre is now seeking support from the Wangaratta community to help preserve this vital resource. While government funding allows us to deliver quality programs, it doesn’t stretch to cover the extensive repairs required to maintain this historic site as a welcoming, inspiring environment for learning.

The “Preserve the Past, Inspire the Future” campaign will help fund essential maintenance to ensure future generations can continue to benefit from The Centre’s mission of accessible, supportive adult education.

As part of this campaign, we’re inviting donations of funds, sponsorships, repair materials, and volunteer time. Each contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to transforming our classrooms from worn-down to vibrant, fostering confidence and growth for those who need it most. The Centre’s CEO, Sue Geals, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “Imagine seeing your name or business featured on a classroom door, recognising the difference you made to people’s lives and learning environments.”

Join us in preserving a piece of Wangaratta’s history and in shaping brighter futures for our community. For more information or to make a donation, please contact us at 03 5721 0200 or click on the donate button on this website.

Together, we can create a lasting impact that will inspire generations to come.
